Welcome to our club

Kyokushin Karate Gymea has been part of the Sutherland Shire community since 1996. It was established by Sensei Keith Young who is still the principle instructor today. We are a friendly club and aspire to follow the Kyokushin Way as set out by our founder Sosai Mas Oyama. That means respect, discipline and hard training are at the heart of our dojo.We are part of a worldwide  family of more than 10 million Kyokushin Karate students and are affiliated  to the International Karate Organisation Kyokushinkaikan under the direction of Kancho Shokei Matsui.

Everyone is welcome at our dojo regardless of physical ability or age. Our organisation has trained hundreds of students who have benefited from the Kyokushin way of training. Students develop self confidence and the ability to effectively cope with any self defence situation on the street utilising Kyokushin Karate's very powerful techniques.Other benefits are improved flexibility, increased stamina and weight loss.

At Kyokushin Karate Gymea you will participate in all aspects of Karate from stretching ,basic training, kata, sparring, self defence and tournaments if you wish. Our students have participated in State, National and International tournaments.

We conduct regular gradings which are internationally recognised and follow a prescribed syllabus that will take the student through from beginner to BlackBelt. We encourage you to take advantage of our free lesson offer and experience what Kyokushin Karate is all about.
